🔑 The System User Token

Instead of using a personal Facebook login, we are using a System User Token for long-term stability.

🛠️ How to Retrieve the Token

1. Go to Business Settings for The Dog Wizard (Main).
2. Navigate to Users > System Users.
3. Select TDW_Data_Engine.
4. If Savanna has approved the request, click Generate Token.
5. Select the TDW Data Engine App.
6. Ensure the following scopes are checked:
   • ads_read
   • pages_read_engagement
   • pages_show_list
   • business_management
7. Copy the token immediately (Meta only shows it once).

🚀 Fivetran Setup

1. Log into Fivetran and select Add Connector.
2. Facebook Ads: Select the “System User” authentication method. Paste the token.
3. Facebook Pages: Create a second connector. Paste the same token.
4. Validation: Ensure both connectors pass the “Test Connection” phase.

🛡️ Maintenance

• If a new location is added to Meta, you must go to the TDW_Data_Engine System User in Business Settings and click Add Assets to give it access to the new Page/Ad Account.
• Fivetran will then automatically discover the new schema.
